Every CYNRIN program starts with hardware in your hands: functional catalog units, branded pre-production samples, a sealed golden sample, or engineering EVT builds for custom ODM. Sample fees are charged honestly and credited back against the first production order.
Smart glasses are worn for hours and judged in seconds. Weight on the nose, open-ear leakage at a café table, handshake distance for the camera, app pairing behavior and hinge feel can only be judged on real units. The sample phase exists to move those judgments before tooling and deposits — not after 5,000 cartons arrive.
We recommend the sequence most brands actually use: order a functional catalog sample first to evaluate the platform, release a branded pre-production unit for internal and buyer sign-off, then seal one golden sample that becomes the contractual standard for mass production and AQL inspection.
Choose the stage that matches the decision in front of you. The stages are sequential in a healthy program, not an upsell ladder.
A sealed unit from current production: factory color and firmware, no custom marking. Used to judge fit, weight, audio, camera, battery life, app pairing and call quality. MOQ is one unit per model; most customers order two to compare wear positions.
Your logo marked by the actual production process (laser or pad print), your pantone-matched color finish, boot screen and pairing name where supported, plus a packaging mockup. This is the unit for retail buyer meetings, marketing photography and compliance file review.
One approved, signed and sealed unit held by both parties. It defines the mass-production standard for appearance, marking, firmware, accessories and packaging; final AQL inspection is measured against it. No bulk order runs without a golden sample on the line.
For co-developed programs: custom PCBA bring-up with 3D/CNC mechanicals, verified against the agreed specification — RF, audio, camera geometry and thermal behavior. EVT precedes tooling; DVT and PVT builds follow as described on the ODM page.
Sample pricing is deliberately simple: the unit carries the real cost of a non-automated build, freight is charged at the courier rate, and the sample fee returns to you as a deduction from the first production PO. No fictional $X placeholders — this is the policy applied to every customer.

Boxed with MSDS where required, shipped express for 3–5 working days door-to-door with tracking; customs duties, if any, are paid by the receiver.

Branded samples include a structural packaging mockup with your dieline artwork so shelf presence and unboxing can be judged before the bulk print run.
Enough flat lighting and a plain background to inspect hinge action, temple routing, lens transmittance and logo placement up close.
Consolidate feedback in one written round referencing the sample serial; engineering responds with what is configuration, what is adjustable before mass production, and what belongs to a custom ODM scope — see ODM development for the latter.
The sample unit charge (1.5–3× mass price) is deducted from the first PO that reaches the program MOQ. Freight and any optional third-party inspection fees are not credited, because they are costs paid out to carriers and labs.
Branded samples include one consolidated revision round based on written feedback. Repeated one-at-a-time changes (logo position today, color next week) are re-quoted so the program keeps moving.
EVT builds, custom firmware or custom packaging design are project-quoted as NRE; see the commercial structure on the payment terms page, including amortization into unit price.
Sample units carry serials and are built for evaluation; they may not be sold as retail stock. Pilot-run units (50–200 pieces) are the correct channel for test-selling.
