Smart Glasses OEM/ODM Frequently Asked Questions

The 24 questions brands, sourcing teams and distributors ask most often — about minimum order quantities, our camera and audio platforms, customization, samples, lead times, shipping, payment, warranty and after-sales. Answers are written by the engineering and sales teams that run the programs, and every answer links to the page with the full detail.

This hub covers the commercial and operational questions behind a smart-glasses program. If you are still comparing which model fits your market, start with the V03-T5 vs E13 vs K01 comparison; if you are vetting us as a supplier, the manufacturer selection guide runs through 12 due-diligence checks. 01 — ORDERING

Ordering, MOQ and quotations

What is the MOQ for smart glasses?
It depends on the program route. Catalog orders on a current reference platform start at 500 units, fully branded OEM programs (logo, packaging, firmware identity) at 1,000 units, and custom ODM development with new tooling typically requires 3,000–5,000 units. The complete tier table is on the MOQ page.
Is the MOQ per colorway or for the whole order?
Usually per model and per colorway, and custom retail packaging carries its own printer minimum. The most efficient first launch consolidates into one or two colorways and one packaging design; additional SKUs can follow once the first container has sold through. Your quotation states every minimum line by line.
Can we place a smaller trial order before committing to volume?
Sometimes, on a proven platform. Tell us your launch plan and target annual volume in the RFQ — trial arrangements depend on the model, colorway count, packaging and certification scope, and are confirmed per project. Most teams start with evaluation samples, then a catalog-tier order of 500 units.
How do I get an exact price and MOQ?
Submit the RFQ form with target model, customization scope, colorways, quantity, destination market and timeline. A named project engineer replies within two working days with an itemized quotation, MOQ tiers, tooling or NRE fees if any, and a sample and production schedule.
02 — PRODUCT & TECHNOLOGY

Platforms, specifications and engineering

Sample kit of CYNRIN smart glasses models arranged with a spec sheet for client evaluation

Unsure which platform fits? A three-model evaluation kit arrives in 5–15 days — see samples.

What types of smart glasses does CYNRIN make?
Three proven directions: AI camera glasses led by the V03-T5 for first-person photo and video; open-ear Bluetooth audio glasses led by the E13 for everyday calls and music; and sports audio glasses led by the K01 for cycling and outdoor use. Browse the current line on the products page.
What is the difference between the V03-T5, E13 and K01?
The V03-T5 is the camera platform — 1080p capture, roughly 90 minutes of recording, polarized lenses and open-ear audio. The E13 is a light, camera-free TR90 audio frame for calls and music. The K01 is a wrap-around IP54 sport audio frame with replaceable lenses. Full feature-by-feature tables: model comparison.
Do the glasses record in 4K?
No — the reference V03-T5 platform captures 1080p Full HD. We do not market 4K specifications the hardware does not deliver. Platform roadmaps are discussed honestly in engineering review; see the technology overview for platform architecture.
What is the difference between OEM and ODM?
OEM builds your brand on a proven, in-production platform with configured cosmetics and packaging. ODM co-develops a differentiated product — new industrial design, custom electronics or a new optical or acoustic architecture — with tooling and NRE quoted separately. Many programs start as OEM and migrate to ODM for generation two. Compare both on OEM and ODM.
03 — CUSTOMIZATION & COMPLIANCE

Branding, packaging, firmware and certifications

What can be customized on an existing platform?
Logo marking (laser, pad print or emboss), pantone-matched frame colors, lens tints and polarized or prescription-ready strategies, surface finishes, retail packaging and inserts, localized manuals, plus the Bluetooth pairing name, voice prompts and firmware identity. The full menu is on the customization page.
Can we use our own logo, packaging and Bluetooth pairing name?
Yes — all three are standard in branded OEM programs from 1,000 units. Your Bluetooth pairing name and companion-app identity replace the reference-model name, which matters for premium positioning and reduces support confusion. Artwork requirements are shared after the deposit milestone.
Does customization change the MOQ and lead time?
It can. Each colorway and packaging variant carries lot or printing minimums, and new tooling raises the commitment substantially — custom ODM programs typically run at 3,000–5,000 units. Define the scope in the customization brief so the quotation reflects exactly what you need; timing detail is on the MOQ and lead times pages.
Which certifications do you support?
CE, FCC, RoHS and REACH are the standard set for EU and US programs, with testing and technical files aligned to your destination markets and, where required, issued in your brand name. ISO 9001 governs our quality system. Market-specific scope is confirmed per program — see certifications.

Retail boxes, inserts, localized manuals and FBA-ready cartons are all in scope — read the customization options.

04 — SHIPPING & LEAD TIMES

Samples, production windows and freight

How long do samples and mass production take?
Evaluation samples are prepared in 5–15 days depending on the model and whether branding is applied. Mass production runs 15–40 days by route — catalog and branded programs are fastest, custom ODM longer after sample approval — measured from deposit plus approved golden sample. The full stage table is on the lead times page.
What are your shipping terms and Incoterms?
EXW and FOB Shenzhen are the standard starting points; CIF and DDP can be arranged per project, including delivery to your DC or Amazon FBA. You may use your own forwarder or ours. The Incoterm, risk transfer and freight basis are stated on the proforma invoice — see shipping & logistics.
Should we ship by air, sea or courier?
Courier suits samples and urgent small parcels; air freight suits launch-critical medium volumes; sea freight is substantially cheaper for full carton quantities but slower. Freight always sits outside the production lead time. Our export team quotes both modes against your carton dimensions and gross weight.
Who handles duties, battery documents and tracking?
Unless DDP is agreed in writing, import duties and destination taxes are the buyer’s responsibility. We supply UN38.3 and MSDS documentation for lithium-battery shipments with the commercial invoice and packing list. Courier and air shipments carry carrier tracking; sea shipments carry booking and bill-of-lading references, and split shipments are possible.
05 — PAYMENTS

Deposits, milestones and payment security

What payment terms do you offer?
A deposit confirms the order and books production capacity, with the balance settled before shipment; 30/70 is the common split on standard programs. Samples and tooling or NRE fees are handled separately. Exact milestones are confirmed per project — see the payment terms page.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Bank wire (T/T) to the named CYNRIN company account — Shenzhen Kingring Technology Co., Ltd. — is the standard export method. Other arrangements can be discussed for established, repeat-order programs. Payments to personal accounts are never requested and should be treated as fraud.
How are tooling and NRE fees charged?
As one-time fees quoted separately from unit price, sometimes partly amortizable into the unit price over an agreed volume. Ownership, exclusivity and amortization are written into the contract before tooling begins. Raise exclusivity at RFQ stage so the commercial structure reflects it.
How do we avoid payment fraud when ordering from China?
Pay only the named company account on the proforma invoice, re-verify bank details through a previously known email thread or phone call, and treat any mid-transaction “bank account update” message as a red flag until confirmed out-of-band. Our full verification checklist is on payment terms.
06 — WARRANTY & SUPPORT

Warranty, RMA, firmware and confidentiality

Need an answer now? Email [email protected] or visit the support downloads area.

What warranty do your smart glasses carry?
A 12-month product warranty from shipment, plus an agreed defective-rate allowance and spare-parts or spare-unit allowance per shipment. Extended terms, onboarding material for your own support team and retailer-specific service levels can be structured for retail programs — see the warranty policy.
How does the after-sales and RMA process work?
Defects are logged against coded failure categories; confirmed failures are settled by spare allowance, credit or replacement shipment per the contract, and root-cause data feeds back to the production station responsible. We also provide an RMA SOP your support team can follow. Process detail: after-sales support.
Do you provide firmware updates after delivery?
Yes — firmware is maintained for the life of the SKU, with branded OTA channels or a documented update path depending on platform. Voice-prompt language sets, pairing behavior and default configuration are scoped to your SKU during development; see technology.
How do you protect our designs and data?
Mutual NDAs are standard before detailed technical exchange, customer-paid tooling is contractually exclusive and physically segregated, and inquiry data is handled under our privacy policy. For deeper programs, exclusivity and IP-ownership clauses are drafted before any deposit is made.
