Smart Glasses Customization, Options, MOQ & Lead-Time Impact

This page is the procurement reference for every customization CYNRIN supports on catalog, branded OEM and custom ODM smart glasses programs: logo and marks, lenses and optics, electronics, packaging, firmware and compliance. Each table states what the option is, the minimum order quantity it triggers, and the lead time it adds to the base program. Base figures: catalog private label from 500 units and 15–25 days; branded OEM from 1,000 units; custom ODM from 3,000–5,000 units.

01 · BRANDING

Logo marks, colors and surface finishes

Lineup of branded smart glasses showing laser and printed logo positions

Branding is the lightest customization tier and the only one available at the 500-unit entry MOQ. Logo positions are validated on golden samples before bulk; pantone colors are matched against physical master chips, not screen renders.

Lens programs, tints and prescription readiness

All supplied lenses carry UV400 protection and are verified on our optical bench for transmittance, polarization and geometry. Custom lens programs that require new tooling or a prescription architecture are scoped as ODM development.

Chips, batteries, sensors and PCBA changes

Close-up of smart glasses PCBA with Bluetooth SoC, MEMS microphones and battery protection

Electronics changes are risk-scored against the certified reference design. Component swaps inside the existing architecture stay on OEM terms; anything requiring a new board layout triggers EMC re-validation and an ODM program with quoted NRE.

04 · PACKAGING

Retail boxes, inserts, manuals and accessory kits

Packaging is the most-used customization after logo marking. Provide print-ready dielines or work from our structural templates; every custom pack is drop-validated before the bulk print run and master cartons can be configured for shelf or FBA/DDP fulfillment.

CustomizationTypical MOQLead-time impact

Accessory bundle (case, cable, cloth)500 units2–5 days per component
Localized manuals and printed cards500 units3–5 days after approved files

Print-ready file requirements are shared with the quotation; packaged golden samples precede every bulk run.

05 · FIRMWARE & APP

Brand identity, languages, voice and OTA

Firmware engineer validating smart glasses software and OTA build in the R&D lab

Firmware customization is version-controlled against the certified baseline: brand-identity and language changes ship as a configured build, while new features follow an ODM statement of work. Every custom build passes regression on RF, audio and battery tests before release.

06 · COMPLIANCE

Marks, dossiers and battery-transport documents

Reference platforms already carry CE, FCC, RoHS and REACH coverage. Certification in your brand name, or for a modified electronics configuration, is arranged with accredited third-party laboratories; UN38.3 and MSDS documents accompany every lithium-battery shipment. CUSTOMIZATION FAQ

Procurement questions about options and thresholds

What is the minimum order for fully branded smart glasses?
Five hundred units: at 500 units you can apply a laser or pad-printed logo, select catalog lens tints and colors, add a logo sleeve or sticker packaging, set the Bluetooth pairing identity and receive localized manuals. Custom pantone frame colors, custom-printed retail boxes and most packaging tooling begin at 1,000 units; custom PCBA or optical architectures begin at 3,000–5,000 units under an ODM program. The full rationale is on the MOQ page.
Are customization lead times added on top of the base lead time?
Mostly they overlap rather than stack. Logo marking, packaging and firmware identity are executed inside the standard 15–25 day private-label or 25–35 day OEM window once artwork and golden samples are approved. New colors, lenses or packaging tooling add the days shown because they involve supplier batches or tooling; custom electronics follow the longer EVT/DVT schedule. We issue one consolidated schedule with your quotation.
Does a custom pantone color cost more?
Custom colors typically start at 1,000 units and may carry a small color-matching and cleaning charge on the first run; there is no per-unit premium on subsequent reorders because the approved master is retained. Pantone values should be provided as physical references where possible — display and print renders are not reliable color authorities for injected TR90 or nylon parts.
Can we supply our own packaging, manuals or accessory components?
Yes, customer-supplied packaging and accessories are accepted under a consigned-materials agreement that states delivery timing, defect allowance and inspection criteria. Components must arrive at our Shenzhen facility before the packing date on the production plan; battery or electronic accessories require their own compliance documents. Most customers instead use our dieline printing, which removes inbound freight and timing risk.
Which customizations require NRE and an ODM contract?
Anything that changes the certified hardware or optical architecture: a new PCBA or chipset, added sensors, custom speaker/microphone design, new lens geometry or prescription inserts with tooling, and new firmware features. These carry itemized NRE, EVT/DVT gates and a 3,000–5,000-unit MOQ. Branding, catalog colors and tints, packaging, language packs and firmware identity on the reference platforms never require NRE — see private label.
Can we mix customizations across SKUs in one order?
Yes. A common structure is one hardware platform across several frame colors or bundle SKUs: the order MOQ applies to the shared platform, while each color or pack variant carries its own smaller sub-MOQ. Mixed containers combining platforms can also be consolidated against the 500-unit catalog threshold. Tell us the planned SKU list in the RFQ form and the breakdown will be quoted line by line.
